Minutes: 

Introductions

The following were present: Ken Perkins, Tammy Perkins, Marianne Hernandez, Al LaDeau, Vicki Finlinson, Curt VandenBosch

Compliance Checklist

The committee reviewed the compliance checklist – emphasizing the need to have a chairman and a vice chairman, and established a time to meet regularly.  It was determined that the committee would meet the third Tuesday of each month at 6:00pm

Committee Membership report 2008-2009

November 21 is the due date to report the members of the SCC to the state.  Positions of chair and vice chair would be determined on Nov. 18 at the next meeting.

Final Report 2007-2008 Plan Implementation

Final financial report has been submitted to the state via the district office.

Review UPASS testing data

Results of last years Core Tests and the Annual Yearly Progress (AYP) were presented to the committee.  TH Bell did not pass AYP.  Deficiencies were noted in Language Arts for Economically disadvantaged, Limited English proficient, and Students with disabilities and in Mathematics deficiencies were noted with Students with disabilities.  On a positive note, the school as a whole achieved the goals for proficiency in Language Arts and Mathematics.

Professional Development plan

The committee learned about the professional development plan the faculty was involved in, namely studying a textbook on Classroom Assessment.  State in-service credit will be awarded to the teachers who fulfill the requirements.

Child Access Routing Plan

The school safety committee completed the CARP and submitted it to the district.

Calendaring

The third Tuesday of each month has been set aside for SCC meetings.

Other

The committee was open to the idea of having available an application form for Trustland monies to those who would petition the committee for projects/materials for consideration.
